Maybe this place is not ideal for black clothes...

Eating organic ice-"cream"* from the farmer's market. Not sure for a moment whether folksy guitar notes in the background came from their website or my speakers on last.fm set to "Girlyman radio".

Welcome to my life.

* Super-recommendable, if that's how you roll. I'm eating Three Twins dark-chocolate organic rice-milk ice-"cream" called Stormy Night, and if like me, you do like frozen real!chocolate creations with a non-dairy base, it's seriously good stuff: fresh, not too sweet and intensely chocolate-y, with only seven ingredients (not too far from the ice-cream we used to make in the long, hot summers in the red hills of Georgia or by the lake in Austria). Their business actually started right where I got this pint: at the Saturday Berkeley Farmer's Market. This flavour is next on my must-try-must-buy list.

(Also eating cat hair. 'tis a well-kept place, and vacuumed, but there is just no escaping. The other night *I* felt like coughing up a hairball.)

Today, then, I got up at 7:45am, not having heard back from any of the other suspects on Craigslist or Facebook, and trekked across the Bay Bridge -- Westward Ho! and all that -- to first pick up [personal profile] verity with her handcart and then together with her travel down into Bernal Heights to pick up a tv: yep, we brought this baby home so now there's at least the chance to watch on a slightly larger screen in the living room...as soon as I figure out how and where to hook the thing up, and also discuss cable packages with my roommate. I have no interest in 96% of tv, but the rest is of course extremely relevant. We shall see. If you know how tv works in this country -- literally and programme-wise -- feel free to share.

Speaking of sharing, if you want to follow my adventures in fragmentary, pictorial form, this is not the worst way, if you don't have or want to use Instagram -- which I fully understand; I'm just staying because I have disassociated accounts.

I envy you SO much right now. <3

Trust me, you don't want my brain or state of mind, ever. But the life I lead so far here, objectively, is lovely indeed. <3

I just wasted a good 15 minutes looking at the different flavours on their website. Sadface that it looks like their stuff is not yet available in Canada. On the bright side, its non-availability is probably a good thing for my waist.

And bad for mine. ;) But now, with a pool so readily available to me (on my way back home too!) I'm confident I can up both my ice-cream intake and my sports activities for overall balance.
