Rrright.
Addendum to the Fun Matching Test under the cut.

The computer support wrote me another message:

Hi!

thank you so much fr playing but nothing but unpunctuality in common, wow that's gonna be fun. ;-)

But thatt you dispose of the pictures of children is tactically absolutely foolish. The nibblet shall do something for your pensions later on, after all. One should strengthen the little ones' self-confidence now so that they Later make it. ;-)

Also, you can get one over on the "artist" quite well. "Wash my car otherwise I show your new girlfriend what you painted when you were four!"

But seriously, if its from a kid that I like, I'd probably hang it up, are really quite Cute long as long as they are small.

I'll refrain from commentary on the dateability-as-apparent-from-these-glimpses of the guy. Add your own.

Wow.

I used to correspond with a guy who I never clicked with via email because he had typos and weird phrasing. But we ended up chatting on the phone early on, and had fantastic conversations about everything from books to sports to family. So I've become a lot more forgiving about online correspondence skills, at least in certain scenarios. It's still a negative mark, but not as big of one as it used to be.

But this guy also sounds like he's likely to be an pretentious asshole too. Yeesh. Not worth the waste of time to find out.

True, people can be much cooler in person; it's not like my online persona reflects how ALL-AROUND FABULOUS! I am in real life. & ;-)

Still, he hits certain pet peeves of mine, both the formal ones -- spelling etc. pp. -- and the ones pertaining to content:

Telling me how foolish my choices are in the second line of a dating request? Someone who thinks that could possibly go over well is just not the kind of sensible, insightful person I'm interested in...or could possibly be interested in.

Don't like the manipulative thoughts apparent in the second and third paragraph of this, either. Sure, sure, "it's just a joke!", but truth be told, mean as I am (obviously, by posting this), I prefer that kind of stuff to be out in the open: If he likes kids and wants them treated well, that's cool: I'm feeling he should simply stand up for that, not justify it by appealing to the mileage one gets out of it. Blackmailing one's friends, if only in jest? Also not too likely to be endearing.

Finally -- reading comprehension, much? I chose the option that thanked the kid and did strengthen her or his self-esteem already, not the "Santa" one.

Oh, my point was that it used to be that I wouldn't even give him a pass for the spelling etc, but that now I'm willing to actually look at the content.

And the content? If that's his "best face forward"? (And even if it's not.) He totally loses.

Okay, so the truth is I cannot, for the life of me, refrain from snark.

Snorted something from my nose, ow.

But yeah, like what abbylee said above, what comes out online might be different offline, give or take a little. But yeah, Holy Shit.

I get that folks are nervous; I think the pressure on guys especially is enormous. Must make first step, must be suave and witty and appear confident and strong -- no, it's not easy, that's for certain.

On the other hand, there are slight blunders which can be attributed to the pressure of the above factors...and then there's foot-in-mouth disease.

I think we're all agreeing.

I'm really just commenting here to say "icon so pretty"

Hee. And thanks. Martha -- well, impossible not to icon her well. Insanely beautiful, Freema is.

Would you like an icon of John?

I would, in that I would be happy to stare at him. But I would also not actually take it, because I, if you recall, have really stupid control issues about my icons. (It's already a source of problems that *I* didn't actually take this picture.)

You should go study!!

I could forgive him the general spelling mistakes. Currently I have a keyboard that is all but giving up on me, so I can relate. That he writes cute with a capital C makes me confused though. And let's not talk about the general "har, har, look I have sense of humour" asshattery, because... yeah.

It makes me want to whip out the John Sheppard-eyeroll.

Or "Later," too.

See, in German, all nouns are capitalised, and he does that correctly...but somehow goes overboard and start capitalising random adjectives (cute) and adverbs (later).

God, I'm such a grammar geek.

Hee. Let me see if I have a JS eye-roll somewhere....

I'd forgotten about the noun capitalisation in German (it's been four years, cut me some slack... ;)) but I'm probably about as much of a grammar geek as you are, so the randomness really gets to me.

I have several JS eyerolls on my harddrive, but not on the userpic archive unfortunately. Maybe I need to update my userpics again...

I know that if someone is in a relationship with me, they will be bombarded by texts, emails, and so on, and they better be replying back to me. Awful spelling and grammar would just drive me up the ROOF.

Okay, if he tells you your opinion on something is wrong in his second email? How do you think he's going to act if you were to actually start dating?

Ordering at a restaurant
Mona: Yes, I'd like the salmon.
CSDude: Salmon could have dangerously high levels of mercury! She'll have the steak.

Renting a movie
Mona: I'm kind of in the mood to see a cheesy romantic comedy - let's rent Bridget Jones.
CSDude: Movies are about improving your mind! We're renting Crash.

Shopping for clothes
Mona: Hey, CSDude, do you like my new shirt?
CSDude: Do you really think you can wear that colour?

-end scene-

Can you tell I really really really hate men who try to tell me what my opinions should be? HATE.
