Wondering before wandering off.

A poll/question regarding my -- multi-fandom as well as non-fannish link -- recommendations:

Both [info]14valentines and [info]halfamoon are up, both are communities celebrating women, multi-fandom, if with slightly different trajectories. So to speak. 0 :-) I've joined both, and I plan to contribute my usual tiny offerings, but this is not actually about that, or even me.

Instead, what I'm wondering about is how y'all would like me to handle my recommendations from these projects. Already, I've found awesomeness I want to share, but then again, I've realised folks have vastly differing preferences when it comes to reading their friendspage and following up on links.

How to share the shiny with y'all?

Post a tiny digest behind a cut every day; I'm fine with that.
16 (55.2%)

Post a daily rec set(let) if you must; I know you might forget or not get to it otherwise.
8 (27.6%)

Like I read your rec posts. (Like *you,* though.)
1 (3.4%)

Post collections of recs; I'm not saying you should wait for two weeks, but every couple of days would be better.
2 (6.9%)

Post an aggregate compilation at the end of these 14 days; I'd read it then--length doesn't bother me.

In other news, [info]pukajen is coming today and will stay in this my country and region till next Friday. I'll definitely have to study some, or try to anyway, but still--yay! I'll pick her up from the airport, have already bought Jen-compliant groceries like soy milk and breakfast cereal. No trouble with meat or sausages, since I don't usually buy that, and even when head over to the parents (who have far larger accommodations, and also a dryer), Jen should be fine, what with a fair lot of vegetarian cuisine. Must look at What To Do sites again. Lonely Planet has nothing on me. *cough*

I had a look at the Lonely Planet for Germany and when it came to the restaurant and club section for Stuttgart, I thought that was really awful. Nobody in their right mind would/should go to there.

As for the recs, I can't really comment since all you seem to post is SGA these days. ;)

Hee! It was fine for India, what Deepa and I snagged from other travellers we met en route, but I hear different countries' entries vary.

And ooh, no! The communities are multi-fandom! As I said, as I tagged.

I didn't feel that it was so bad for New Zealand either. Yes, I guess that might vary from country to country.

Okay, it's multi-fandom with 90% SGA. ;)

Okay, you have not actually checked out the communities, have you? That's okay, of course! Just thought you especially might enjoy stuff on Life as well as life: family histories ranging over generations, recipes, laughable beauty tips.

Were you watching Life? I forget.

I did watch Life.

Also, I was just saying that to wind you up a little.

For some places the Rough Guide is better. Hm, also I think Lonely Planet may have region-specific guides for Germany as well as one for the whole country-- the regional ones might have more content. But in any case, nothing beats the personalized tour from someone who knows the place.

Yay recs! As multifannish as I am, I'm always happy to be pointed to good stories. I tend to read SGA first, but I love lots and lots of different fandoms. ♥

Can't wait. I wish I could participate in 14v this year, but at the very least I want to keep up on the reading. *smooches you for making it easier*

I like seeing/reading recs one at a time. Tagging does the necessary collection/organization, and it's just a lot more relaxed, for me. I'm overwhelmed by the volume of fanwork that scrolls past on my flist, to the point where I've either unsubbed or filtered most of the newsletters and comms. [info]halfamoon being one of the exceptions.

In short, I'm more likely to click on the link and go read the rec if it's the only one posted, or one of few.

Great poll.

Isn't it? [info]liviapenn did four manips on the theme Mind Body Spirit (plus The Next Generation) for the layout of [info]halfamoon.

Hmm, I hope I'm not posting this comment twice. LJ is acting crazy on me.

Just wanted to say that I don't have time to look at the newsletters anymore and I rely pretty much almost entirely on flist recs for what I read now, so recs are awesome and appreciated. Doesn't really matter which of these methods you choose, so long as we get the goodies.

:)
