I have actually written fic, never you fear; I just wait for the betas. Without rushing them!
I just got myself into buying a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon-Carmenère cuvée in addition to my definitely lively and drinkable Nero d'Avola. The latter was well worth its five euro; not exciting but well-rounded and spicy, vanilla tastes of summer fruit without any of that lingering acidity I don't cherish at all...but gah, the former? It was an interesting wine, granted, full-bodied and just the way I like them insofar; it's just that I'm not a huge Cabernet fan. I know, I know, noble grape bla bla bla, eternal Bordeaux etc. pp.; it's not the blackcurrant taste, which I find quite amazingly distinct -- it's the tannins that, come hell or high water, I just don't love. Not in young wines, anyway -- whoever sneers at high-priced wines has a different palate, and lucky them: Older wines of certain grapes do have mellower tannins and are, to me, much more drinkable, but they are, at the moment, also not quite affordable. (For some weird reason, while I have grown a bit tired of it like everybody else, I don't mind barrique).
Clearly, I need to actually send some of these applications to employers I've click-saved. ::looks determined::
Will open the Nero d'Avola now and enjoy it with my beef steak on garlic-roasted mushrooms with some cauliflowers thrown in for good measure.
